He was an officer in the Greek army and resistance fighter, member of the Communist Party of Greece (CPG) and the NLF of Thessaloniki. He was tortured and killed in 1944 by battalion guards. He was a graduate of the AUTh and a track and field athlete. The unveiling of his bust took place in 1986, the anniversary of his death. The bust was placed in a park at the junction of N. Plastira and T. Karatasou Streets, which was named after him.

Υπήρξε αξιωματικός του ελληνικού στρατού και αντιστασιακός, στέλεχος του ΚΚΕ και του ΕΑΜ Θεσσαλονίκης. Βασανίστηκε και δολοφονήθηκε το 1944 από ταγματασφαλίτες. Ήταν πτυχιούχος μαθηματικός του ΑΠΘ και αθλητής στίβου. Τα αποκαλυπτήρια της προτομής του έγιναν το 1986, την επέτειο του θανάτου του. Η προτομή τοποθετήθηκε σε πάρκο στη συμβολή των οδών Ν. Πλαστήρα και Τ. Καρατάσου, το οποίο πήρε το όνομά του.
