It is located in the settlement of Finikas and has an area of 62 acres. It operates with the initiative and care of the Laboratory of Forest Botany of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of AUTh. From the first stages of its foundation, in 1966, cypress trees were planted around the garden in a close connection of the two rows, in order to form a windproof fence to protect the plants. The planting in the garden began in the fall of 1970 with an architectural design. Today, trees and shrubs of the Greek flora grow in the garden, as well as a small number of foreign species that are of interest from a reforestation and aesthetic point of view. Each of the existing 132 wood species is represented by one or more individuals (a total of 510 individuals). The herbaceous flora amounts to 208 branches. Also, there are three greenhouses with an area of 210 sq.m. The main purpose of the Garden is the education of the students of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment. At the same time, it offers the possibility of visiting and informing pupils and students, as well as small groups of other interested parties.

Βρίσκεται στον συνοικισμό του Φοίνικα και έχει έκταση 62 στρέμματα. Λειτουργεί με πρωτοβουλία και φροντίδα του Εργαστηρίου Δασικής Βοτανικής του Τμήματος Δασολογίας και Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος του ΑΠΘ. Από τα πρώτα στάδια της ίδρυσής του, το 1966, φυτεύτηκαν περιφερειακά του κήπου κυπαρίσσια σε στενό σύνδεσμο των δύο σειρών, ώστε να σχηματίζουν αντιανεμικό φράχτη για προστασία των φυτών. Η φύτευση εντός του κήπου ξεκίνησε το φθινόπωρο του 1970 με αρχιτεκτονικό σχέδιο. Σήμερα, στον κήπο αναπτύσσονται δένδρα και θάμνοι της ελληνικής χλωρίδας, καθώς και ένας μικρός αριθμός ξενικών ειδών που παρουσιάζουν ενδιαφέρον από αναδασωτική και αισθητική άποψη. Καθένα από τα υπάρχοντα 132 ξυλώδη είδη αντιπροσωπεύεται από ένα ή περισσότερα άτομα (συνολικά 510 άτομα). Η ποώδης χλωρίδα ανέρχεται σε 208 κλάδους. Επίσης, λειτουργούν τρία θερμοκήπια έκτασης 210 τ.μ. Ο κύριος σκοπός του Κήπου είναι η εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών του Τμήματος Δασολογίας και Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος. Συγχρόνως προσφέρει τη δυνατότητα επίσκεψης και ενημέρωσης σε μαθητές και σπουδαστές, καθώς και σε ολιγομελείς ομάδες άλλων ενδιαφερόμενων.
